Tunisia, officially called the Tunisian Republic is the northernmost African country, and the smallest of the nations situated along the Atlas mountain range. Neighbors of  Tunisia are Algeria (west) and Libya (east).
Approximately 40% of the territory belongs to the Sahara desert, while other 60% comprise fertile soil and costs, which are easily approachable.
 Today, Tunisia is a very popular tourist destination, however this country played a prominent role in ancient times. First with the famous Phoenician city of Carthage, then as the Africa Province of the Roman Empire, and then as the Maghreb region of various medieval Islamic states.
Tunisia is ranked high among Arab and African nations in reports released by The World Economic Forum - currently, it is first in Africa and 36th globally for economic competitiveness.
