Africa might as well be considered world's richest continent. Everything from oil to diamonds and gold is found here in quantities larger than anywhere else on Earth. Due to specific historic reasons, however, Africa's wealth was used to greatly enrich continents such as Europe and North America, not leaving much of inheritance to modern day Africans. Nevertheless, there's still marvelous vigour to world's second biggest continent - it's population is booming and so are some of the newly prosperous African economies such as Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Mauritius. Eastern part of Africa, covered nowadays by Tanzania, is the birth place of the human race, as most scientists nowadays agree. But Earth's warmest continent also gave birth to world's first civilization - that of Ancient Egypt. It is in Africa where the human race learnt to walk upright, to talk and to write. Today, the remains of ancient civilizations, most notably those of Ancient Egypt, Aksum and Great Zimbabwe, provide some fantastic sightseeing, while on the other hand there's something downright supernatural to Africa's natural beauties - what could ever compare to the beaches of the Seychelles or the awe inspiring perfection of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro. The attractions of Africa are, however, not limited to the glories of the past and its natural wonders, for the continent also boasts some of Earth's biggest and most beautiful cities (think Cairo, think Cape Town). On the other hand, places like Fez, Marrakech, Johannesburg and Addis Ababa have established a reputation of their own. Due to its size, weather extremes, the lack of infrastructure and localized political strife Africa is still a vastly undervisited continent and as such world's true tourist destination of the future.
