Bumblehood helps you find, contribute and organize information, inspiring the community to make it even better.
It's all about sharing knowledge effectively.
Browse it, read it, change it, print it, get it on mobile… know the world around you.
Since the beginning of culture and civilization people have acquired a vast amount of knowledge in all fields. Ever since it has been difficult to organize it in an easy way and systematically present and share it. Modern world brought the Web, and many things became easier but the systematical organization of data still remained a hard job. Books and libraries were the only means for keeping and organizing large amounts of data. New computer technologies and paradigms provided us with new and better tools to get the job done.
Have you ever used a search engine looking for a particular topic, but the results you were given could not provide the environment and relations between the topic and its surroundings? You were missing the big picture? Have you ever looked up for something in an encyclopedia (we mean the online ones, of course; are those things printed any more?) and got a thorough information, but lacking its connections with the neighboring domains? What about the companies' file systems and huge amounts of data scattered all around? We started Bumblehood to address those issues.
Bumblehood brings the power for organizing information in a platform that can be used by anyone. It allows the field experts to contribute their knowledge in an enjoyable way, and by enforcing the strong principles of systematic organization, makes that knowledge easy to be found. The strength of Bumblehood lies in all information being semantically classified and interconnected through a domain specific knowledge map. This gives a potential for endless searching capabilities yet to be explored.
Building a knowledge base of all geographical locations and businesses worldwide is a demanding task that we set upon us at the moment, but the future brings new fields like music, film or literature, just to name some, to be mapped. More information about the technology behind the project can be found on BumbleMap page.
