Aosta Valley is a mountainous region located in the north-western corner of Italy. This region, the only one without provinces, is small in size and population, with less than 150,000 people. This Alpine valley includes famous slopes like Mont Blanc, which is the highest peak. The climate is rather rough but it doesn't stop passionate skiers and borders to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and experience to the full the joys of winter sports. The two most visited centres are Cervinia and Courmayeur. The region has two official languages: Italian and French. There are many well preserved Roman bridges in this region, like Pont de Pierre.
